Same Day ELP

A license position in 24 hours: how Same Day ELP works.

Send the contracts and the deployment data, and an effective license position comes back within 24 hours of a complete submission. AI drafts it, an analyst reviews every line and a second analyst checks it before you see it. What you do with it stays your decision.

2 analystsOne reviews every line. A second runs the QA check.

An audit letter arrives with a deadline on it. A renewal arrives with a notice period. Either way the question is the same, and it is rarely answered in time: what do we own, what do we run, and what is the gap worth?

Same Day ELP is the service in Vera AI by VendorBenchmark that answers it with people on every line. An effective license position sets what you own against what you run and prices any gap. You send the paper and the deployment data, AI builds the first draft, and two analysts check it before it reaches you. This article covers how the 24 hours run, what comes back and what stays with you.

Three steps, in the order they happen

The service runs on one ticket, and on one clock you can watch from the first file to the delivered position.

How it works. The tab names the three steps in order: pick the service, upload what it asks for, then AI drafts, an analyst reviews and a second analyst QA checks. Below them, what you receive on your ticket.

The gallery covers Oracle, SAP, Microsoft, IBM, Salesforce, Cisco, Autodesk, ServiceNow, Workday and VMware, 41 products in all, each with its own upload guide, so you send the right files the first time. In the app the service is called License position in 24 hours, and search still finds it as Same Day ELP.

You send the paper and the data once

A request takes four steps, and the app saves your uploads as you go, so a closed window leaves the request where you left it.

  • What you need. The vendor and the product, chosen from tiles. IBM also asks which product families are in scope.
  • Your files. Drop everything on the box. Each file lands on the item its name matches, and a ring counts the required items covered and says when the clock can start.
  • A few questions. Why you need it, which legal entities it covers and when you need it. An empty entity list covers your organization and its subsidiaries.
  • Send. The request in one table with Change beside each part, the items you do not have with your reasons, and the time it is due if you send now.

The checklist has two panels, what you bought and what you run. An item you cannot supply takes a reason instead of a file, and the reason travels with the request. Press Send and start the clock, and each file is checked again for where it is stored, its size, its type and malware before the ticket opens with its reference and due time.

How the 24 hours are counted

Every request passes the same five stages: Submitted, AI draft, Analyst review, QA check and Delivered. The ticket draws them as one line, with the hour each stage lands by. Done stages fill in, the current one is lit, and it turns gold while the clock waits on a file from you.

How every request is made. The AI draft lands within the hour, the analyst review the same day and the QA check before delivery. Below, the three items every ELP requires and the three that help if you have them.

The AI reads every file and builds the first draft, entitled against deployed, line by line, in minutes. A licensing analyst then checks every line against your own contract terms and the product rules. A second analyst traces each figure to a file before the position is released. Two people sign off on every ELP, and you never see a draft.

Counted honestlyThe 24 hours start when every required item has a file or a stated reason it is not available. They run through nights and weekends, because 24 hours means 24 hours, not one business day. They pause only while the analyst waits on a file from you, and that time is added back.

If something is missing, the analyst asks on the ticket, the clock pauses, and Upload on the ticket restarts it. Anything missing from the submission is named in the result, so the position is never quietly incomplete.

What comes back on the ticket

The delivered position opens in the ticket's ELP tab, built to share with finance, legal and the vendor team.

  • The exposure at list. The shortfall priced at list in US dollars, with a summary and the names of who drafted, reviewed and QA checked it.
  • The position by product. Entitled against deployed for every product and metric, with the gap on each line.
  • A what if. One slider per short line, for units removed, reharvested or moved, and the exposure recomputes as you move it.
  • The levers, ranked. What closes the gap, ordered by what each one is worth.
  • The vendor's own analysis. A bill of materials on every Microsoft position, the MACC commitment on Azure, conversion credits and total cost on SAP, and the optimization report and Agentforce commitment levels on Salesforce.

Download the ELP saves it as a spreadsheet, one sheet per part, and Print or save as PDF prints it. Questions go to the same analyst on the ticket.

The clock starts when the request is complete, runs through the night, and stops only for you.

What happens next is yours. The details column offers the next moves: negotiate from the position, plan the renewal, benchmark the price with an analyst, or start another ELP. The offer to draft the email writes the follow up from the position, the exposure and the levers the analyst delivered, and opens it in your own mail. Nothing sends from the platform.

Where it sits

This is the overview. The rest of the guide goes deeper.

The Same Day ELP guide covers the whole cluster, and the Same Day ELP page has the coverage and the clock rules in one place.

What to do first

  1. Open the guide for your vendor. Every plan can read the upload guides. Pick the product and read both panels before you pull a file.
  2. Pull the files. The signed agreement and every amendment, every order form in force and the deployment data the guide lists. Where a file is hard to pull, How to pull this file gives the steps.
  3. Send a complete request. Mark anything you do not have with a reason, so the clock can start.
  4. Read the position with the what if open. Move the short lines and see which levers matter before you speak to the vendor.

Questions buyers ask

What is an effective license position?

When every required item has a file or a stated reason it is not available. It runs through nights and weekends and pauses only while the analyst waits on a file from you.

Does AI write the position on its own?

Which vendors does it cover?

Oracle, SAP, Microsoft, IBM, Salesforce, Cisco, Autodesk, ServiceNow, Workday and VMware, 41 products in all, each with its own upload guide. Oracle Database and Middleware are in beta.
